I previously posted the middle photo. I am choosing to repost that one along with the two other frames from that same quick response to these random riders on a NJ Transit bus to fulfill this assignment, because I shot them with my IPhone 10 XR. I am responding to this assignment because I am actually one of those self-taught photographers whose trajectory began with learning and executing the craft of this beautiful medium and I am often a bit offended when people who rely solely on their phones, claim to be photographers. I understand the concept of vision vs. tool, and the value of certain photos as artistic prizes no matter how they were created or with what. And perhaps that is acceptable and fine but in order to qualify as a pro, so much more blood, sweat and tears and process and equipment is necessary. Thus most of the time I choose to carry a camera, whether it's a mirrorless, or a compact or an SLR to shoot unassigned work or street photography or in this case, bus photography! But on the occasion that I did not carry one of those pro tools, perhaps because I was weighed down by other baggage, and all the elements of a potentially striking, meaningful, decisive moment photo come together, I would not hesitate to use that multi purpose instrument, and push the camera button, as I did in this case...
