The sun is a fantastic light, and sometimes, you are in the right place to see a fantastic show at the right time. I was and had my camera at hand to capture the waves and a lighthouse with the sun beaming from a storm that passed by earlier.

I don't know if anyone else sees it, but....I see a pair of Angel Wings in the light...read anything you want into that, but, to me it adds a very spiritual feeling to the image....I often see things in an image much later, things that I did not intend, or notice initially, but it ends up enhancing the image significantly.
Beautiful and dramatic image! I would change the composition to lose the bottom, third of it in the foreground. It would add more strength and drama to the overall photograph plus if you decrease the exposure on it and add a little more contrast, it would have that much more drama and I don't mean by manipulating the image but just adjusting it!
Congratulations! Beautiful image. Yes, the sunlight is best at sunrise, the blue hour, and at dusk during sunset, right? Some of my favorite model portraits outdoor was photographed very early in the morning backlighting the model, which gives an effect of long hair literally like it's glowing. In Arizona a classic nature image portrays a saguaro cactus during sunrise or sunset.
Beautiful shot! I like how gentle the colors are on the ground and how a bit sharper they are in the sky, showing the rays of light perfectly and touchingly.
