It might be to late for this month's contest but I'm posting something I shot just last night, 5/23/24. I was hesitant to be another stalker with a camera, and the scene was not lit. But I suddenly found the inspiration and the sliver of light and to my delight, it was well worth it. Outside of the jazz festival I was covering, at Roulette in Brooklyn, these 3 legends of jazz, Knoel Scott, saxophonist and 100 year old Marshall Allen saxophonist, from the Sun Ra Arkestra lit up while William Parker, bassist and co-founder of this Vision Festival, walked away. Mind you, those are cigarettes, NOT weed and it's the second time I've witnessed Marshall smoking. The first was after a commissioned shoot of him, when he was approaching 99! I don't condone smoking tobacco but it's hard to criticize when this example of a life well lived is partaking! I give credit to one on my inspirations along the way, Alex Webb, whose book (Hot light/half-made worlds), I
bought during the early stages of my career.
This is great, you captured a moment and you told a story, both visually and verbally!
Love it...❤️ well done Enid!!
