I can only characterize some of my random shots, not as street photography, or necessarily photojournalism, or documentary photography, but as "drive by shootings". None of these photos are on assignment from a publication or have any ultimate monetary reward beyond my own satisfaction and to share in the wide space of social media. Not that they can't, but mostly they haven't. Nonetheless, this one is another example of having less than a split second at a stop sign or light, where I see a scene that captivates my attention, then attempt to grab my camera and pray that I can get just the right angle before the car behind me starts screaming with it's horn! I was drawn to the man who was very much an anomaly in a mostly Asian neighborhood in Leonia, NJ on the corner of the building with the reflection of what can be construed as a cross, waiting for something or nothing, which I will never, ever know...
