This title is a bit self serving. I am posting this photo from a day where it was about the exquisite spring light and trees and my eyes were drawn to mostly that. But in a city where it is so very hard sometimes to isolate the elements and to not be distracted by thousands of bits of visual information a second, I managed to capture this while walking down 42nd street heading to an appointment on 5th ave. The woman was sitting on the edge of the NY Public Library wall, as per usual, completely immersed in her phone, whether speaking to someone, reading a text or watching something that delighted her, another "I'll never know" example. It was a truly kismet moment where many elements perfectly aligned for my camera and me for some wry social commentary from a random photo op. I'm not even sure what any of it means but it's up to you, the viewer to decide, or not!
